Pictou Mutual Insurance Company is a locally owned heritage insurance company striving to provide
high quality insurance products to serve the ongoing needs of our community through the principles of
honesty, accountability, loyalty and

Our History
Established in 1904, Pictou Mutual Insurance Company is the oldest mutual insurance company in Nova Scotia. Initially established by a group of farmers who sought to provide local protection for each other in the event of loss, our company has grown to include more than 3,500 local and rural policyholders.
