Pictou Mutual Insurance Company is a locally owned heritage insurance company striving to provide
high quality insurance products to serve the ongoing needs of our community through the principles of
honesty, accountability, loyalty and
expedient service.
Our History
Established in 1904, Pictou Mutual Insurance Company is the oldest mutual insurance company in Nova Scotia. Initially established by a group of farmers who sought to provide local protection for each other in the event of loss, our company has grown to include more than 3,000 local and rural policyholders.

safety inspection and subsequent renewals, Pictou Mutual distances

helpful claims service is only a toll-free call away, night or day, 365 days a year. We
will not send your claim to an outside adjuster who will process your claim on our behalf. Our trained and experienced in-house adjusters will be
on-site immediately to address
all aspects of your claim and to process your claim in the fastest and
fairest manner, oftentimes resolving your claim and issuing payment within 48 hours of your initial call.
